Alocasia ‘Dragon Scale’ 4” Pot

Description

A total show-stopper with thick, heart-shaped leaves that look like hammered metal or dragon armor. The foliage is silvery-green with deep, dark veins and a matte, almost reptilian texture. Compact, sculptural, and very “rare-plant energy.”

Care Guide 🌿

Light

• Bright indirect light
• Too much sun = scorched leaves; too little = slow growth

Water

• Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry
• Keep evenly moist, never soggy
• Sensitive to overwatering → root rot is the main villain

Humidity

• Loves high humidity (60%+)
• Thrives in cabinets, greenhouses, or near a humidifier

Temperature

• Ideal: 65–85°F
• No cold drafts; dislikes temps below 60°F

Soil

• Chunky, fast-draining aroid mix
  
• Think: coco chips or bark + perlite + a bit of moisture-retentive base
• Roots need air just as much as moisture

Fertilizer

• Light feeder
• Half-strength balanced fertilizer every 3–4 weeks during active growth

Dormancy Note

• Can slow way down or drop leaves in cooler, darker months
• Reduce watering but don’t let it fully dry out
